E-commerce food delivery service Foodpanda has been bringing new updates for its Asian customers for the past few months. It has recently gone through a rebrand in Vietnam and a merger with a Singapore rival. Today, FoodPanda in Malaysia announces that it adds more choices for its customers as it ties up with coffee giant Starbucks. Claudio Abitante, managing director of Foodpanda in Malaysia says this move is part of their goal to deliver “a greater variety of food delivery choices to Malaysians.” Apart from Starbucks, it has also tied up with other international food chains including Tony Roma’s, Old Town White Coffee, and Morganfields. More to providing “a greater variety of food delivery choices to Malaysians,” the Rocket Internet-backed startup says this can also aid the restaurants to have additional sales channel, and a digital way to reach out to their customers. Here’s what Ben Chiew, general manager, operations division of Old Town White Coffee says:

We think having a delivery service will bring greater convenience to Old Town White Coffee customers. Busy customers need not come to our outlets - instead have us go to them.

Along with this cooperation, Foodpanda will offer free delivery for these brands in Malaysia from July 1 to 8. Foodpanda now has over 300 partner restaurants in Malaysia. Claudio says they are working to bring more brands in. He adds:

Expect to see all leading international food brands in Malaysia on Foodpanda in the next few months.

But Foodpanda’s partner restaurants did not only increase in Malaysia, it has also tapped a number of restaurants across Asia in the past weeks. It includes Pizza Hut in India, KFC in Pakistan, Subway, Gloria Jean’s Coffees, NYDC, BreadTalk, Tokyo Deli in Vietnam, and Scoozi Pizza in Thailand. Looks like there’s no stopping Foodpanda in its continuous expansion. To date, it is present in 27 countries (eight in Asia) and targets to tap the three billion people in these markets.
