Frankie Pangilinan offers bail for arrested Sitio San Roque resident

6 Apr – Frankie Pangilinan recently offered to help one of the 21 residents of Sitio San Roque in Quezon City who were arrested for the recent protest against the government over lack of food following the Luzon lockdown.

As reported on Rappler, the said daughter of actress Sharon Cuneta and Senator Francis Pangilinan expressed her interest on social media as a response to a tweet from activist and musician Renato Reyes Jr.

Reyes previously tweeted that the San Roque residents who were arrested were facing multiple charges and must pay up P15,000 each bail despite being hungry and out of money because of the lockdown.

Pangilinan retweeted the post, and wrote, "I'll sponsor one. Please give the details."

Speaking about her decision, the 19-year-old, who has always been outspoken against President Rodrigo Duterte's administration, stated that she rarely does this kind of thing, but that she was angered upon hearing what had transpired.

"They need to be set free. And the faster we can get this done the better," she added.
