Taking place on 19 to 22 October, gamescom asia will feature for the first time an Entertainment Zone where fans can play games, watch esports, play boardgames, check out cosplays, try out indie games, and more.

Interested visitors can drop by the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore from 20 to 22 Oct (though 20 Oct is limited to business visitors and pre-registered fans).

This will be similar to the entertainment area in the main gamescom exhibition in Cologne and should be a welcome one for gaming fans in Singapore, who have long missed the fan-friendly events of GameStart Asia, last held in 2019.

For now, Capcom is the first major publisher to sign on, and will likely display its latest game, Street Fighter VI. Besides the Street Fighter series, Capcom also has franchises such as the Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Resident Evil, and more under its belt.

"We are extremely excited to open the Entertainment Zone onsite to the public for the first time this year. We know it has been long anticipated by passionate fans and gamers and we look forward to welcoming them to gamescom asia," said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director and Vice President Asia-Pacific of Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, who are the organisers.

Besides allowing members of the public to have fun at the Entertainment Zone, gamescom asia will also be recognising the SEA Game Awards winners at the event.

There will also be the usual business centric trade events with talks by industry veterans, discussion over gaming trends, game design, business and marketing. There's also a new Content Creators Summit for influencers and content creators.

Gamescom asia has also confirmed that speakers from CD PROJEKT RED, makers of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Witcher series of games, Mojang, Team 17, Ubisoft, and more will be attending.

If you're keen on hopping by, tickets will go on sale on end-July, though details will be made known later.
