While all eyes are still focused on the release of Genshin Impact version 4.6 and the long-awaited Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino on Wednesday (24 April), developer HoYoverse has given players plenty more to be excited about by revealing Clorinde, Sigewinne, and Sethos as the three new characters coming in version 4.7 on Monday (22 April).

While HoYoverse has not yet officially revealed the rarities of the three new characters coming in version 4.7, previous release patterns lead us to expect that Clorinde and Sigewinne will be 5-stars while Sethos will be a 4-star.

Here's everything we know about those three upcoming characters so far!

Clorinde

Clorinde is the strongest Champion Duelist in Fontaine, even serving as Furina's bodyguard when the latter still held the position of Hydro Archon. She was first revealed alongside most of the Fontaine cast during the “Overture Teaser: The Final Feast” teaser in July last year, quickly becoming one of the fan-favourite characters due to her fierce gun-toting musketeer design.

We first meet Clorinde in-game when she accompanied Furina as she welcomed the Traveler to Fontaine upon their arrival to the Nation of Hydro. Clorinde's role as Furina's bodyguard also meant she was present in all the courtroom drama that unfolded in the Fontaine Archon Quest storyline, though she would later be among those to turn on Furina when the truth about her identity came to light.

But the character Clorinde has the closest relationship with is Navia, as the two were close friends from a young age. However, the two had a falling-out when Callas, Navia's father, chose to die in a duel after being framed for a murder at the hands of Clorinde.

With that said, Clorinde and Navia have since set aside their previous quarrel and rekindled their friendship, even traveling to Qiaoying Village in Liyue together during this year's Lantern Rite event.

As the strongest Champion Duelist in Fontaine, Clorinde is a formidable fighter to say the least, wielding a sword and an Electro Vision in battle. We can also expect her to make use of her trusty pistol, judging by how prominent it is in her splash art and by the fact that she was trained in the art of Marechaussee Hunter marksmanship.

Sigewinne

Sigewinne is a Melusine currently serving as the head nurse of the Fortress of Meropide's infirmary. She stands apart from her Melusine brethren for her "special body" that is physiologically closer to a human's.

Sigewinne was also among the Fontaine characters first revealed during the “Overture Teaser: The Final Feast” teaser, appearing alongside Wriothesley, the current Administrator of the Fortress of Meropide. Sigewinne made her first in-game appearance when the Traveler entered the Fortress as a pretend convict under the orders of Neuvillette in order to investigate the prophesied Cataclysm of Fontaine.

While Sigewinne has a very cute appearance and a sweet personality, she does have a cold and calculating side as well that shows up whenever the order within the Fortress is concerned. We saw this side of Sigewinne when she successfully tricked both the Traveler and Lyney in order to help Wriothesley force them to reveal what they were planning in the Fortress — even shooting Lyney with a tranquiliser from her pistol when he confronted Wriothesley.

Aside from Wriothesley, Sigewinne also maintains a close relationship with Neuvillette, as she like all other Melusines look up to the Iudex as a sort of father figure. Sigewinne also enjoys coming up to the surface from time to time and has a particular fondness for beauty and skincare.

Given her role as the Fortress of Meropide's head nurse, we can expect Sigewinne to take on a healer role as a playable character. This goes well with her Hydro Vision, which should make her the third dedicated Hydro healer in the game after Barbara and Kokomi.

With that said, HoYoverse has yet to reveal what Sigewinne's weapon of choice will be. Though we speculate that there is a good chance she will be a Catalyst user that also makes use of the gun she is seen wielding in her splash art.

Sethos

Sethos is an entirely new character that will make his first appearance in the game in version 4.6 during the second chapter of Cyno's Story Quest. The two share a lot of similarities as desert-dwellers from Sumeru with Electro Visions that gained power from the ancient sage Hermanubis, though version 4.6's trailer suggests that the two will come to a conflict.

Aside from that, there is little we know about Sethos given that he has not made any appearances before version 4.6. But based on his introduction, Sethos serves as an envoy of the desert that guides travelers through the treacherous and shifting sands of Sumeru.

Interestingly enough, Sethos seems to have been named after the ancient Egyption god 'Set', the trickster god of deserts, storms, disorder, violence. This may also be the source of his conflict with Cyno, whose design is based on 'Anubis', the Egyptian god of funerary rites, protector of graves, and guide to the underworld.

HoYoverse has also revealed very little about how Sethos will appear as a playable character outside of the fact that he will bear an Electro Vision just like Cyno. This notably makes Sethos just the third male Electro playable character alongside Cyno and Razor.

With Genshin Impact version 4.6 set to be released on 24 April and assuming the typical 40-day duration, we can expect version 4.7 as well as Clorinde, Sigewinne, and Sethos to be released some time in early June.
