Genshin Impact reveals the fashionable Geo lady Chiori as a new character coming in version 4.5 in March

Geo Gang rise up! Genshin Impact has revealed that Chiori, the Inazuman seamstress rocking the fashion world of Fontaine, will be a new playable character coming with version 4.5 in March.

Chiori has a Geo vision, and while developer HoYoverse has yet to officially announce her weapon of choice, the fact that she wields a pair of swords in her splash art leads us to believe that she will also be a sword user.

More importantly, Chiori will be the second Geo character released after Navia in version 4.3 following almost a two-year drought for Geo characters. The last Geo character to be released before Fontaine's pair of elegant Geo ladies was Yun Jin all the way back in version 2.4 in January 2022.

While HoYoverse also did not reveal Chiori's rarity, she is expected to be a 5-star character.

Chiori is a famous fashion designer from Inazuma that moved to Fontaine and is now running the Chioriya Boutique. Some of the characters she has designed outfits for include Navia, Lyney, Lynette, and Kirara.

Chiori first appeared in version 4.3's flagship "Roses and Muskets" event, where she aided in the production of the 'Two Musketeers' film. The event also showed her influence goes far beyond the fashion world as she was revealed to be friends with Chevreuse, captain of the Maison Gardiennage's Special Security and Surveillance Patrol, and even assisted her in past cases.

Chiori has earned the moniker of 'Thundering Seamstress' in Fontaine for being "as direct as a bolt of lightning". She was even described as obstinate, headstrong, and disobedient from a young age, even daring to forgo honorifics when addressing her elders — a surprising quality for someone who seems to have been born into nobility in Inazuma.

While Chiori has already appeared in the game and with voiced dialogue, only her Japanese voice actress — Taketatsu Ayana — has been officially announced.

Since only Chiori's teaser was dropped, we can expect her to be the only new playable character coming in Genshin Impact version 4.5. With version 4.4 dropping on 31 January, and assuming the version will have the typical 40-day duration, then we can expect version 4.5 to be released on 10 March.

Genshin Impact version 4.4 will be dropping on 31 January and will feature two new playable characters in Xianyun and Gaming, three new skins for Shenhe, Ganyu, and Xingqiu, as well as the return of the annual Lantern Rite Festival.
