Genshin Impact reveals the long-awaited Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino will finally become playable in version 4.6 in April

Travelers, rejoice! Genshin Impact has revealed on Monday (11 March) that the fan favourite Fatui Harbinger Arlecchino will finally become a playable character in version 4.6 in April.

Arlecchino, also known as "the Knave", is ranked Fourth out of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, making her one of the most powerful and influential beings in Teyvat. She is also the current director of the House of the Hearth, an orphanage run by the Fatui that provides the organisation with a steady stream of manpower.

As such, Arlecchino is adressed as "Father" by members of the house, such as Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet. In turn, she calls those that came from the House of the Hearth as her "children".

Arlecchino wields a Pyro vision and is expected to be of 5-star rarity, though her weapon of choice has not yet been revealed. She also bears the title of 'Dire Balemoon' and has the constellation 'Ignis Purgatorius', which translates to 'purifying fire' in Latin.

The Knave will also be the third playable Harbinger in the game after the Eleventh-ranked Childe, aka Tartaglia, and Wanderer, the former Sixth-ranked Harbinger Scaramouche.

Enter the Knave

Arlecchino was first revealed during the “A Winter Night’s Lazzo” teaser back in July 2022 alongside the rest of her fellow Harbingers. She quickly became a fan-favourite for her striking character design, especially her black eyes with X-shaped red pupils, and femme fatale energy.

Arlecchino also appeared in the 'Overture Teaser: The Final Feast' last July, where she was positioned as one of the major players in the Fontaine Archon Quest storyline. At the time, many expected her to be the primary villain of the story, though that did not end up being the case.

(Spoiler alert) During the events of the Fontaine Archon Quests, Arlecchino was revealed to be a Fontainian and had arrived to the region in order to help prevent the prophecy that doomed the nation to a cataclysmic flood from coming true.

While in Fontaine, Arlecchino also investigated the sudden disappearance of Childe and even met with Furina and Neuvillette. She even expressed anger over Furina's apparent lack of urgency when it comes to saving Fontaine from disaster and even attempted to steal the Hydro Gnosis away from her, though she found that Furina was affected by some sort of curse and that the Gnosis was not in her possession.

When the prophecy ended up becoming true, Arlecchino helped to evacuate Poisson and even led the Traveler to nearby ruins that helped them uncover its mysteries. She and the members of the House of the Hearth also provided assistance to those affected by the flood.

Arlecchino was later given the Hydro Gnosis by Neuvillette as a 'diplomatic gift' for her assistance and was asked by the Traveler to return Childe's vision to him before she departed for Snezhnaya.

Of course, we know that won't be the last time we see of the Knave. With her being confirmed as a playable character in version 4.6, we can expect Arlecchino to once again step into the spotlight of Genshin Impact's story. And honestly, we can't wait for the game to finally make her the focus of the story.

Arlecchino and Genshin Impact version 4.6 is expected to be released on 21 April, assuming that version 4.5 dropping on 13 March will have the usual 40-day duration.

Genshin Impact version 4.5 will drop on 13 March and will see the release of a new 5-star character in Chiori, reruns for the 5-star characters Arataki Itto, Neuvillette, and Kaedehara Kazuha, as well as the new Chronicled Wish banner system.
