There will also be an all-new new wish system and more events to enjoy, so there's definitely tons of new content to look forward to.

But before we can explore what went down during the Genshin Impact version 4.5 preview livestream, here are the livestream codes, redeem the rewards before they expire!

Chiori makes her debut alongside Arataki Itto's rerun

While there will only be one new character debuting in version 4.5, you wouldn't want to miss out on the formidable Geo Sword user Chiori! The three other 5-stars that can be acquired in the upcoming update will be Arataki Itto, Kaedehara Kazuha, and Neuvillette.

After featuring as one of the main characters in the previous version 4.3 event, Chiori is finally debuting as a playable character in her first ever banner run alongside the one and oni Arataki Itto!

Chiori has earned the moniker of 'Thundering Seamstress' in Fontaine for being "as direct as a bolt of lightning". She was even described as obstinate, headstrong, and disobedient from a young age, even daring to forgo honorifics when addressing her elders — a surprising quality for someone who seems to have been born into nobility in Inazuma.

So it's safe to say that Chiori's headstrong personality is a reflection of her vision, as she is a 5-star Geo character. Her seamstress background comes into play with her choice of weapon: a sword that she can dual-wield like her own pair of massive, separable sewing shears.

Chiori's kit focuses on inflicting her own brand of pain against enemies with her masterful swordplay, making her a quick-swap DPS. Her elemental skill, when tapped, summons her own automoton Tamoto to aid in battle, and when held, can swap with a character of your choice already in the party. While Chiori's Elemental Burst will draw her twin blades and execute a clean cut, dealing AoE Geo DMG.

Arataki Itto on the other hand, is everyone's favourite musclehead, need I say more? This lovable airhead Oni may lack in the brains department, but his powerful kit can more than make up for it, and he'll definitely be a valuable addition to your character roster if you decide to wish for him.

Chiori and Arataki Itto will be available on the first half of version 4.5.

Chiori's signature 5-star weapon 'Uraku Misuguri' will also be made available during this time in the weapon banner. Uraku Misuguri will boast a Defense substat, which also means Albedo Mains will now have a better weapon to pick up!

Neuvillette and Kaedehara Kazuha rerun on second half

The second half of Genshin Impact's version 4.5 banners will definitely be a hard choice for newbie and seasoned players alike, because two of the strongest units you could ever ask for will be running alongside each other: Neuvillette, the Iudex of Fontaine and the venerable Hydro Dragon, and Kaedehara Kazuha, the uncrowned Anemo Archon (sorry, Venti!).

Neuvillete is a 5-star Hydro catalyst user whose kit focuses on his devastatingly powerful enhanced Charged Attack, which lets him unleash a powerful torrent of water in front of him to wipe the battlefield clean at the cost of his own HP. His skill, burst, and passive talents help him maintain a constant barrage while giving him additional sources of damage.

Kaedehara Kazuha on the other hand, is the premier Anemo support that literally had the internet begging for his rerun once upon a time (two years ago, to be exact). In terms of elemental reactions and buffing main DPSs, Kaedehara Kazuha can double, triple, even get your DMG to new heights you could ever only dream of. And with Dendro reactions still being at the top of the meta, you'd want Kazuha's help in getting those Blooms and Hyperblooms in order.

New banner system in 'Chronicled Wish'

Genshin Impact's version 4.5 will introduce a new type of Event Wish for players to consider, called 'Chronicled Wish', players can obtain random rerun characters and weapons.

What sets 'Chronicled Wish' apart from the Standard banner is that majority of the 5-star characters and weapons in the pool are event wish-exclusive.

The 'Chronicled Wish' banner will use Intertwined Fates or primogems for currency, and players can choose which character or weapon they can get through the 'Chronicled Path'. If your 90 pulls (or less) does not yield you your chosen 5-star character or weapon, your next series of pulls will give you your guaranteed chosen 5-star. Think of this banne as similar to the weapon banner, but with one less Fate point to consume for your guarantee!

Events, and more events, and even more events!

Genshin Impact's version 4.5 will have us travelling back to Mondstadt to aid the Knights of Favonius in the Alchemical Ascension main event, where our favourite resident librarian Lisa is managing an alchemical potion shop to promote local business.

A management event, players will handle production, cultivation, concoction, and sales of potions to interested customers. When successfully done, you can even choose to expand your business by purchasing more facilities and exquisite potion bottles! You can even strike deals with certain familiar faces. Participating in this event will yield rewards like primogems, ascension materials, mora, and the event-exclusive 4-star polearm 'Dialogues of the Desert Sages'.

Other events to look forward to are:

  • Feline Fortress Furdyssey - where every cat lover's dreams come true! Create a home for Mondstadt's adorable feline friends, create a bond of trust and love between them, and be in literal kitty bliss.

  • The Great Fayz Reaction Debate - the continuation of a previous event, players will once again aid Jami in their research on his Fayz potion.

  • Rolling Crossfire - shoot cannons at slimes to get rich rewards!

New 'Training Guide' system

The quality-of-life feature 'Training Guide' will provide players with character building suggestions based on data from recently active players, becoming a valuable asset for both newbie and veteran players alike.

The 'Training Guide' will consist of tabs focusing on character level, recommended weapons, recommended artifact sets, and recommended talent level ascension. To know more about this new system, read our article about it here!
