Gigi Leung celebrates her first Mother's Day

12 May - 10 May 2015 was significant to Hong Kong actress Gigi Leung, who celebrated her first Mother's Day as a mother after giving birth to her daughter, Sofia Crespo Gutes.

As reported on Apple Daily, the actress posted a photograph of her daughter online recently, and expressed, "The first thing I did after I woke up was to feed my baby and welcome the first Mother's Day of my life!"

"Seeing her laugh is probably the best gift for me on Mother's Day. Thank you for depending on me, and thank you for making me understand what unconditional love means. Please grow up slowly, because you are growing up too fast!"

In a previous interview, the actress talked about her experience as a first-time mother, and admitted that it was difficult at first to adjust to the changes.

"The first month was harder. I was very nervous, didn't know a lot of things, and learning a lot of things every day," she said. "I often have to wake up at night [to breastfeed]. But the sacrifice is worth it. I also treasure the moment when the baby is asleep during the day, so I can sleep as well."

The actress joked that she and her husband have turned into 'baby detectives', trying to investigate and interpret the meaning of Sofia's every single cry.

When asked if she plans to have another one, Gigi replied, "It's all in God's arrangement."

Gigi, who married Spanish food engineer Sergio back in 2001, gave birth to her first baby Sofia on 28 February.
