Gillian Chung admits personality not suitable for showbiz
29 Aug – Gillian Chung recently admitted that she didn't actually have the right personality for showbiz, which she said was developed by her upbringing as a kid from a single-parent family.
As reported on Mingpao, the actress who appeared on the mainland talk show "The Real One" recently, stated that she was never the type of person who knows how to express herself well, and might not have been able to succeed in the business if not for her singing partner, Charlene Choi.
"I just didn't know how to talk to other people. I am this way my entire life. There are more girls in my family than guys, so I also didn't know how to interact with the other guys when I first joined the industry. People would think I am shy, and I think it might have been caused by the way I grew up," she said.
Gillian stated that the only reason she became an artiste was so that she could take care of her family.
"I wanted to give them a better life," she said.
The singer added that if she was given the opportunity to travel back in time to 20 years ago, she would be willing to start over again and let go of her fame.
"I didn't feel like I enjoyed my youth. I would love to go back again and have a happy childhood," she said.
