The film was released in cinemas at the end of November and is now available on Netflix in the UK. Despite the film receiving great reviews, there's one aspect of the movie, viewers aren't so keen on.

Glass Onion is set during the summer of 2020 and therefore is set in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and viewers really aren't keen on the pandemic being included.

One fan wrote on Twitter: "Not Glass Onion being set in a pandemic 😭"

And another said: "#GlassOnion did NOT need to take place during covid… always hate when shows/films do it, especially now that we’re two years past it. Didn’t add anything to it, just made it worse honestly."

And another simply said: "Covid exists in Glass Onion 💔 💔 💔 💔"

So why was the pandemic included in the film? Well Kate Hudson, who stars as model Birdie Jay in the movie, explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, having the movie set in the pandemic was a great way to explore the characters more.

She goes onto explain the different ways the characters wear their masks says a lot about them.

"The great reference in this is how we all wear masks. You got Lionel (Leslie Odom Jr.), [the scientist] showing up double-masked. I'm showing up with, like, a lace or mesh mask. Claire (Kathryn Hahn) is showing up with it hanging down like a chin strap. Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) has a very chic and tight mask."
