Gloria Calderon Kellett, Xolo Mariduena and Edward James Olmos and More Join NALIP’s 2024 Media Summit (EXCLUSIVE)

Activist Dolores Huerta, writer and showrunner Gloria Calderón Kellett, “Blue Beetle” star Xolo Maridueña, and Oscar-nominated actor Edward James Olmos are among the talented lineup at the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) 25th Anniversary Media Summit. The summit will showcase a series of panels, intimate one-on-one sessions, and dynamic discussions featuring prominent Latino creatives. The event will take place on June 27-28 at Neuehouse in Hollywood, California.

The summit will commence with a Fireside Chat titled “Catalyst for Change: Honoring Legacies, Empowering Futures,” featuring activist Dolores Huerta, Calderón Kellett, and Olmos. The session, moderated by Diana-Maria Riva, will discuss the past and future of Latinos in Hollywood and provide insights for the new generation. Other highlights include “Crafting Authentic Narratives and Embracing Opportunities,” featuring award-winning director Atich Alberto and actors River Gallo and Vico Ortiz, moderated by Johnny Sibilly; “Scaring Up Success at the Box Office,” featuring Michael Bitar, Vice President of Creative Development and Production at Sony Pictures Entertainment, and Michael Clear, President of Atomic Monster, moderated by Variety’s Senior Awards Editor Clayton Davis; and “Spotlight on Success: Young Latino Talent in Hollywood,” with breakout actors Xolo Maridueña, Belissa Escobedo, Diego Tinoco, and Xochitl Gomez, also moderated by Davis.

Jon Huertas, Daniel Dreifus, Lee Rodriguez, and Carlos López Estrada will participate in the “WeTheLatin: Success in the Hyphenate” panel. Additionally, Sam Lyabourne, Francisco Cabrera Feo, Ilse Apellaniz, Bernardo Cubria, Celeste Klaus, Gonzalo Lomeli and Maggie Feakins will be part of the “Acapulco: The Rise of Multilingual TV” panel. The day will conclude with a special presentation titled “NBC’s Lopez vs. Lopez: The Road to Season 3,” featuring the creators of the hit NBCUniversal show “Lopez vs. Lopez,” including writers Debbie Wolfe, Marcos Luevanos and Al Madrigal.
