Governor Migz Villafuerte happy with girlfriend's victory
5 May - While Rachel Peters's family and friends came to show their support at the Binibining Pilipinas, one man stood out among her many supporters - the Governor of Camarines Sur, Miguel Luis "Migz" Villafuerte.
As reported on Rappler, the said politician, previously known as the youngest governor in the Philippines when he won the position in 2013, was revealed to be the boyfriend of the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines.
When asked about Peters' victory that night, Villafuerte jokingly responded that it felt like he won the election all over again.
"The truth is, I know what Rachel went through. She worked hard, made a lot of sacrifices, and had sleepless night. By the grace of God, she has finally achieved her dream," he said in all seriousness.
Villafuerte said that while he was nervous at first, he became more confident that Peters would win when she got to the Top 15.
He also shared that Peters was an introvert, and made a stunning transformation in order to win the title.
"I know Rachel's hard work, and her work ethics. She sacrificed a lot to prepare for this evening," he added.
However, the governor is not worried about their relationship, saying that they will remain strong together even though he and Peters will be busy with their own respective work.
