Gwyneth Paltrow and Serena Williams Are Going Into the Frozen Food Business

They may be an unlikely pairing, but that isn't stopping Gwyneth Paltrow and Serena Williams from both investing in a frozen food startup together. Read more about the partnership here.

You might not think that Gwyneth Paltrow and Serena Williams have much in common, but you're more wrong than you realize. The Oscar-winning actress and 23 time Grand Slam tennis champion are both investing in the frozen food startup Daily Harvest, and we honestly can't think of a more star-powered way to kick off a business.

Daily Harvest is a subscription-based food service working to convince customers that frozen foods can be as healthy (or more healthy) than fresh foods. The startup ships frozen, single-serving organic smoothies, overnight oats and chia puddings directly to homes, and it's fan base is already pretty A-list.

Williams praised the female-led startup in a statement, and said she looks "forward to helping more people gain access to nutritious meals." While Paltrow hasn't said anything publicly yet about Daily Harvest, the company has already talked about her support.

"Gwyneth Paltrow is an authority on health and wellness," said Daily Harvest CEO Rachel Drori in an interview with Fortune. "The reason we are so excited to partner with her is she is somebody who people will listen to and [then] take a second look at frozen food."
