Han Dong to play the lead in "The Duke Of Mount Deer"

12 Sep – Mainland actor, Han Dong has been cast as the famous character Wei Xiaobao (Wai Siu Po) for the latest version of Jin Yong's "The Duke Of Mount Deer".

According to a report on Hengdian World website, the "Bu Bu Jing Xin" actor has been chosen to play the clever and flirtatious character. Filming has begun at Hengdian World Studios on 8 September.

Meanwhile, six actresses have been confirmed to play Wei's six wives, out of a total of seven. Actress Zhang Meng will play Shuang'er, Loura Lou the spoiled Princess Jianning, Jia Qing to portray the beautiful A'ke, Viann Zhang will play Su Quan, Zhao Ke will star as play Fang Yi, and newcomer Wu Qian will be Mu Jianping.

Shawn Wei ("King Of Lan Ling") will play the role of the Kangxi Emperor, who is also Wei's best friend.

"The Duke Of Mount Deer" will be directed by Samson Lai, who have directed countless adaptations of Jin Yong's works, including "Return Of The Condor Heroes" (1998), "State Of Divinity" (2000), and "Demi-Gods And Semi-devils" (2013).

"The Duke Of Mount Deer" has been adapted countless of times in movies and TV dramas before, which include the 2008's version starring Huang Xiaoming, the 2000 version with Dicky Cheung, as well as the hit 1984 version starring Tony Leung (Chiu Wai).
