Hollyoaks' Leela Lomax kicks Joel Dexter out as sad story continues

Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Thursday. This article contains discussion of baby loss.

Leela Lomax sent her husband Joel Dexter packing in the new episode of Hollyoaks.

The couple are in the midst of a heart-wrenching miscarriage storyline, with doctors confirming last week that baby Noah had passed away after an emergency ultrasound.

However, a household hiccup has now drove a wedge between the devastated parents.

In the latest scenes, Leela and Joel left the hospital carrying a memory box.

Offering her help in any way she could, Mercedes McQueen was told to stay away from them as her own pregnancy is too painful to be around.

Over at the Lomax house, Joel's mother Marie informed Warren Fox and Norma Crow that Noah had died. Upon their return home, Marie then provided some words of guidance to her son while also caring for Leela.

Soon after, it was revealed that Joel had accidentally loaded Noah's blanket into the washing machine, leading to even more heartbreak for the family.

"Oh no no no, you haven't. No! Joel make it stop!" yelled Leela, banging on the top of the washer. "I didn't realise it was in there, I'm sorry. I didn't see it," he replied sheepishly.

"This is the last thing I've got of him," she said, crying into the freshly washed blanket. "How could you do that? I need you to get out Joel! Just get out, I can't even look at you. Every time I look at you I just see him, I just see Noah. My baby boy..."

Standing in the background, a shocked Marie encouraged her son to do as he'd been instructed, with an upset Joel later turning up at Warren's.

Organisations including Sands and Tommy's are able to offer help and support to anyone affected by baby loss.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
