Home and Away's Tane is stabbed at work as his past comes back to haunt him

Home and Away's Tane Parata has to be taken to hospital next week after a violent incident at Salt.

Tane (Ethan Browne) is attacked by some troublesome faces from his past, who react badly when he refuses to be drawn back into his old ways.

The Summer Bay charmer has previously been involved in criminal activity, but has since tried to go straight by working for Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) at the local restaurant.

Next week, two thugs confront Tane outside Salt and try to tempt him to take part in a dodgy job.

Tane refuses, so the villains follow him into the restaurant and deliberately cause a nuisance in order to increase the pressure on him.

When Tane asks the pair to leave, one of them reacts violently by breaking a bottle and stabbing him with it, before fleeing.

Tane tries to make out that the injury is only small, but Mac insists on taking him straight to the hospital.

Once inside the building, Tane's day gets even worse as the hospital elevator suddenly gets stuck – with him and Mac both in it.

Mac struggles badly with the situation, haunted by memories of her involvement in the hospital siege months earlier.

Ultimately, Mac's anxiety leads to a panic attack, but she's pleased when Tane is there to kindly console her. Could this bring them closer together, despite Mac already being in a relationship with Tane's brother Ari?

Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13 at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
