Honkai: Star Rail drips Topaz and her pet Warp Trotter Numby a day after Jingliu
Topaz will be a 5-star character wielding the Fire element following the Path of the Hunt, joining Honkai: Star Rail's roster in version 1.4 in early October.
Honkai: Star Rail developer HoYoverse has revealed the second 5-star character coming in version 1.4: Topaz and Numby, her pet Warp Trotter!
Topaz will wield the Fire element and follow the Path of the Hunt, with Numby likely helping her in combat as a separate character similar to Jing Yuan and his Lightning-Lord.
Topaz will also be the first playable character hailing from the Interastral Peace Corporation (IPC), the largest and most influential organisation in Honkai: Star Rail that follows Qlipoth, the Aeon of Preservation.

Despite her young age, Topaz already holds high-ranking positions in the IPC, serving as Senior Manager of the Strategic Investment Department and leader of the Special Debts Picket Team.
Topaz is also a member of the ‘Ten Stonehearts’, likely a group of powerful individuals within the IPC, with her core stone being the ‘topaz of debt retrieval’.
As you can guess from her job titles, Topaz is in charge of chasing down various debts and liabilities that negatively influence the IPC's commercial ventures. Numby assists Topaz in her job thanks to its ability to acutely perceive where “riches” are.
While Topaz has yet to make an appearance in-game, she is the featured character of the Preservation Light Cone ‘Trend of the Universal Market’.
While the IPC has mostly been part of the background in the journey of the Trailblazer and the Astral Express Crew so far, the galaxy-wide organisation may soon become a more prominent player in the story with Topaz’s coming arrival in version 1.4.
With the crew set to wrap up their affairs in the Xianzhou Luofu in version 1.3, the Astral Express will be headed to a new destination and we think it will be the planet Penacony.
A news broadcast from the IPC said that Penacony issued a formal invitation to many of the galaxy’s factions for the first time in history, including the IPC itself as well as the Astral Express Crew. Because of this, Himeko planned to make Penacony the Astral Express’ next destination after Jarilo-VI.
But as we know, this plan was dashed after the Stellaron Hunter Kafka suddenly informed the Astral Express Crew of a Stellaron crisis on the Xianzhou Luofu, which forced them to change their destination.
With Topaz, a high-ranking official of the IPC, set to be released in version 1.4, it’s very likely that Penacony will be where the Astral Express is headed next once that update comes.
Topaz will be one of the two new 5-star characters coming in Honkai: Star Rail version 1.4, the other being the Ice Destruction character Jingliu. Honkai: Star Rail version 1.4 is expected to be released in early October.
Honkai: Star Rail is currently in the second half of version 1.2, featuring the beautiful Stellaron Hunter Kafka as the featured 5-star. After version 1.2 comes 1.3, which will be released on 30 August and features Imbibitor Lunae and Fu Xuan as new 5-star characters as well as Lynx Landau as the new 4-star.
