Influencer Faces Backlash from Fans - and the Couple - After Filming and Posting Vlog from Their Wedding Day

Lilah Gibney posted a vlog about Alex Warren and Kouvr Annon's wedding and fans aren't happy

An influencer posted a vlog from someone's wedding — and people online aren't thrilled about it, including the newlyweds.

On Saturday, June 22, Hype House stars Kouvr Annon and Alex Warren were married in California. The couple began dating and got engaged in 2022.

The beautiful ceremony took place outside with a reception following beneath a tent. Social media stars Charli D'Amelio, Markell Washington and musician David Kushner were among those in attendance.

One of their guests, influencer and vlogger Lilah Gibney, posted a video on YouTube the next day, titled "I caught the bouquet at Alex & Kouvr’s WEDDING" which documented Gibney and her friends driving to the wedding, the ceremony and the reception.

Also part of the almost 6-minute clip was the influencer and her friends, with their phones in hand, providing commentary about the day's festivities, catching the bouquet and rolling around in the bride's veil.

The video, which was shared the day after and has garnered over 40,000 views as of the time of writing, ends with a congratulations message to the couple — but seemingly focused more on Gibney's experience as a guest.

While Gibney's video went live on June 23, Annon, 24, and Warren, 23, shared some behind-the-scenes getting-ready moments on TikTok.

The newlyweds seemingly hadn't posted anything professional from their big day before Gibney shared her post, which has sparked a debate online about sharing content from someone else's weddings before they can share themselves.

TikTok user @mattiesbasement posted a video on the platform asking viewers if it was a "crazy take" that a guest posting a vlog about their wedding was not the right time or place. "It's a wedding, it's not a theme park," they said.

"Imagine it's your turn to go talk to this bride and groom," the user continued, " 'Oh my god, celebrating your love,' and you're like, wait, let's vlog," pretending to hold up a phone for taking a selfie.

While they did note that they were happy for the newlyweds, the user continued by adding that "vlogging is crazy" in those circumstances, concluding the video by asking followers if they were wrong.

Annon responded "Period" and Warren chimed in by commenting "This is a very valid take" on the TikTok, which has since been liked over 700,000 times.

Other TikTok users also responded to the video, some saying that they heard about the wedding from Gibney's vlog before from the couple themselves and they should be able to post about their big day first.

"Lilah using THEIR wedding as a backdrop for her basically OOTD really got me," one person said, possibly referring to an Instagram Reel Gibney shared.

"Literally saw someone post saying they had a vlog posted of alex and kouvrs wedding the next day!! Before really anything was shown about it," another commented. "Like let them post first then post anything you have second."

"The fact that I saw Alex and Kouvr’s wedding before they could even post literally was so disrespectful," a third noted.

On June 24, Warren shared professional footage of him and Annon exchanging vows on his YouTube.

PEOPLE reached out to representatives for Lilah Gibney for comment, but they did not immediately respond.
