James Corden has revealed how much he truly regrets starring in Cats, in order to avoid consuming cod sperm.

The TV host played a round of Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts with Justin Bieber on Thursday during The Late Late Show with James Corden.

According to the rules of the game, each participant must answer an embarrassing question or consume a repulsive item.

Bieber picked cod sperm as Corden’s potential penance if he didn’t answer the question put to him.

The singer then read the question out loud, asking Corden: “On a scale of one to 10, how much do you regret doing Cats?”

The question was met with a roar of laughter from the audience and Bieber himself. Cats, a film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical, was widely panned by critics and viewers after its release in December 2019.

Corden, however, was undeterred.

“Do you know what? I’ll answer that,” he said.

“On a scale of one to 10, how much do I regret doing Cats? One is the least and 10 is the most.

“Well, here’s the thing. I had the loveliest time making that film. It took me six days and I loved every single second of it. So I think you’ve got to be careful not to decide – you’ve got to decide things on your own personal experience. And I had a really great time.

“So I don’t regret it at all, because I decided to do it in the same way that I’ve decided to do many things. Some have worked, and some haven’t.”

Despite this impassioned tirade, Corden reached a somewhat unexpected conclusion when he announced: “So I’m going to put it at a solid five [out of 10] – 4.5.”
