Janil Puthucheary replacing Chan Chun Sing as PAP party whip

SINGAPORE — Senior Minister of State for Transport as well as Communications and Information Janil Puthucheary will be replacing Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing as party whip for the ruling People’s Action Party’s (PAP).

Announcing the move on its party website, the PAP said the move would take effect from Thursday (6 June). Chan had previously held the party whip post since 28 September 2015.

The announcement added that “Comrade Janil” will be assisted in his new position by two deputy party whips – Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information as well as Culture, Community and Youth Sim Ann and Minister of State for National Development and Manpower Zaqy Mohamad.
