Japanese inflation edged up in April, slightly accelerating the pace from the previous month, official data showed Friday. Core inflation, excluding volatile fresh food prices, hit 0.3 percent year-on-year, beating market expectations for a 0.2 percent rise. In March, inflation rose a tepid 0.2 percent excluding the impact of a sales tax rise last year.
