John Cho's Family Is At the Mercy of Their Home's AI System in Thriller 'Afraid'

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the full trailer of Chris Weitz's upcoming thriller, Afraid.

Starring John Cho as Curtis, the film follows his family as they are chosen to be the testers of AIA, a digital family assistant placed in their home. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer begins peacefully with the family enjoying AIA's tech, but things quickly take a turn for the worse as AIA begins to influence the kids and interfere with their family's lives in deadly ways. It also hints at some form of extraterrestrial being as the "true form" of AIA.

Cho is joined in the main cast by Katherine Waterston, Havana Rose Liu, Lukita Maxwell, David Dastmalchian and Keith Carradine. Weitz directed and wrote the film, as well produced alongside Andrew Miano and Blumhouse's Jason Blum.
