Joseph Lee: It's not wrong to kiss your daughter!

28 Jul - Veteran actor Joseph Lee has recently slammed Netizens for their "dirty minds", after they criticised him for kissing his daughter Cherie on the lips.

As reported on Apple Daily, the issue sparked recently, when the 63-year-old shared photos from Cherie's 15th birthday celebration on 21 July, and wrote, "Yesterday was my daughter's birthday! I am so happy!"

However, it was one of the photos - of Joseph kissing his daughter on the lips - that triggered some people online, with one saying that it was disgusting to see a father kissing his own daughter that way.

On the other hand, others defended the actor, saying that only people with perverse mind would think negatively about the bond between a father and a daughter.

In a text message sent to the media recently, Joseph said that it was a normal thing for a father to kiss his daughter on the lips, and that he has done that since his daughter was just a baby.

"As far as I know, a lot of other people understand me, so I don't need to explain things that have never been an issue," he added.

On the other hand, daughter Cherie also expressed her frustration about the whole issue, saying that it was nothing but a paternal love.

"I think it's just ridiculous that a kiss by a family member is distorted into something vulgar," she added.
