Joyce Cheng does classic pin-up for magazine cover

28 Jul - The usually boyish Joyce Cheng recently dolled up for a photo shoot for the August cover of Hong Kong's Marie Claire magazine.

Proving that size doesn't matter, the singer made several difficult poses in a tight polka-dot dress for a classic pin-up girl look.

When asked if she was comfortable in her provocative outfit, Joyce replied, "To me, wearing very little does not equate sexiness. Being sexy is an attitude that stems from being confident."

The 28-year-old however, admitted that the style for the photo shoot was quite bold for her.

"But I like it," she quickly clarified. "I feel very feminine and empowered."

Joyce added that she was surprised that such make-up and hairstyle would suit a plus-sized star such as herself.

Damage to Philippine vessels and injuries to their crew in the South China Sea is "irresponsible behaviour" in disregard of international law, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on Thursday, weighing in on the latest flare-up involving China. Manila and Beijing have traded barbs almost daily since Tuesday's confrontation at the disputed Scarborough shoal, where China's coast guard used water cannon against to two vessels from the Philippines, prompting outrage from its government. "We've been very clear to everyone, to include Beijing, that the kind of behaviour that we've seen, where Filipino crews are put in danger... sailors have been injured and property damaged, that is irresponsible behaviour," Austin told a joint press conference in Hawaii.
