Juliette Louie is the new Miss Hong Kong 2017
4 Sep – 23-year-old Juliette Louie has been crowned Miss Hong Kong 2017.
As reported on Mingpao, the daughter of millionaire designer Henry Louie beat crowd favourite Regina Ho, who was crowned the first runner-up, despite initially leading by four votes.
The second runner-up goes to 23-year-old Emily Wong.
In addition to winning the crown, Juliette also won Miss Photogenic.
However, netizens are already voicing their dissatisfaction with Juliette's victory, with many criticising her looks and her lack of proficiency in the Chinese language.
When asked about Juliette winning the crown, Regina stated that she will respect the decision and is satisfied with the results.
Meanwhile, Juliette recently took to Instagram to share her first photo after the coronation, and captioned it, "So this happened..."
