KakaoTalk Rolls Out Free Data Usage to Two Telcos in Indonesia

After chat apps Line and KakaoTalk launched their own respective TV ad campaigns - with Korean celebrities as the main star for both companies - now they have moved on to rolling out promotions for their users. KakaoTalk announced yesterday that Indonesian users from telcos Telkomsel and XL will receive 25MB of free daily data to use any KakaoTalk feature or product like KakaoStory and games.

If users have used up all of the 25MB free data for the day, they will be sent an SMS from the telco about it. The PR representative told us that an extensive messaging use of KakaoTalk every month needs only 10MB. 25MB is enough for a daily dose of chat and games. Telkomsel users will receive free data usage until June, while XL users can get it until August.
