Katie Holmes Just Debuted Caramel Highlights in Time for Summer (and We're Calling Our Colorists)

The actress stepped out in New York City this week with a fresh hue

Katie Holmes switched up her hair for the summer season.

The Dawson’s Creek alum, 45, has been busy attending events this week in New York City — the perfect time to debut a hair color refresh.

On June 10, Holmes stepped out for Chanel’s Tribeca Film Festival Artists dinner rocking a rich caramel balayage look which was expertly placed throughout her brunette hair and added dimension.

Holmes’ colorist Gina Gilbert added hints of a coppery color that seamlessly blended into the actress’ brunette hair. It also looks like the pro weaved in honey blonde highlights to Holmes’ roots and money pieces for added brightness.

Celebrity hairstylist DJ Quintero took Holmes' color to the next level by working her hair into textured curls that gave the vibe of salty, beachy, ocean-kissed waves.

Holmes wore an all black lace Chanel look for the event.

The next day, on June 11, Holmes was photographed with pin-straight hair, which really showed off her fresh highlights.

So far, 2024 has been a year of celebrities reinventing their hair looks.

Some, like Margot Robbie and Jennifer Aniston, have opted for dramatic chops, others like Beyoncé, Camila Cabello and Zendaya have gone blonde.

New hair isn't the only thing Holmes has debuted — she's has also been busy releasing her collaboration with A.P.C.

Holmes approached the collection “with the idea of it being a complete wardrobe." The result: jeans, miniskirts, blouses, bags, wedge heels, flats and more that can be mixed and matched.

There’s also a quilt modeled after one made by Holmes’ mom. The special design was so limited that only 100 were available to buy.

For the campaign photo shoot, Holmes showed off the $795 quilt (which is already sold out) by wrapping herself in the blanket — and nothing else! "My mom has made me many quilts, all of my siblings and [her] grandkids. And there’s a difference when you’re sleeping under your mother’s work,” she told the Washington Post.
