Keifer Sutherland releases album and concert dates

"Designated Survivor," starring Kiefer Sutherland, will be renewed for a third season on Netflix, coming 2019

Actor Kiefer Sutherland has released a debut album along with dates for a 26-city tour.

Called "Down in a Hole," the album is described as "folk-tinged" and features 11 tracks.

Beginning April 24, the star will hit the road in a tour that will hit 26 cities across the US.

"It's the closest thing I've ever had to a journal or diary," Sutherland said in a statement. "All of these songs are pulled from my own personal experiences. There is something very satisfying about being able to look back on my own life, good times and bad, and express those sentiments in music."

In 2002, Sutherland founded a small record label with fellow singer Jude Cole called Ironworks.

Sutherland returns to the small screen in the ABC political drama "Designated Survivor" which premieres in the 2016/2017 TV season.
