Keppel REIT commences construction of second office development in Melbourne.

Keppel REIT announced on Aug 18 that it has commenced construction for its newly acquired office tower in Melbourne, Australia. The Grade A office tower, located at 311 Spencer Street, stands at 42 storeys and neighbours Melbourne’s CBD and the new Docklands precinct. According to Keppel REIT, it is set to be completed in 4Q2019. It will have an estimated nett lettable area of 717,000 sq ft, and will comprise 7 levels of above ground and 4 levels of basement carpark space.

Sited on freehold land, the development is within walking distance to the Southern Cross station, Melbourne’s railway and transportation hub. The office tower will also be the headquarters of the Victoria Police from 2020.

Designed by Woods Bagot, a leading architectural firm, the tower will meet the Green Building Council of Australia’s 5-Star Green Star rating and the 4.5-Star energy rating by the National Australian Built Environment Rating System.
