Kevin Cheng, Fruit Chan detained in Macau

16 Jan - It was reported that Kevin Cheng and film director Fruit Chan were among those who were taken to the Public Security Police Force department in Macau recently, after they were caught filming at a restricted area in the city.

As reported on Oriental Daily, the incident occurred on 12 January, when Kevin, who plays a Macau police officer in his new movie, "Made in Kowloon", was told by the director to step into a police department in Macau, and walk back out, as part of a scene.

However, they were later stopped by the police and brought to the department for further questioning, after it was revealed that the production didn't have any permit to film around the area. The cast and crew were detained for hours before the police released them at 11pm the same day.

It was also reported that the director has also signed an apology statement to the Macau authority for not following the procedures, stressing that he will not repeat the same mistake in the future.

Both are now back in Hong Kong.
