Kourtney Kardashian Recalls Pregnancy Bed Rest Where She Couldn't Stand for More Than 20 Minutes
The Kardashians is back for Season 5, and Kourtney Kardashian opened up about her emergency fetal surgery during the show's premiere.
"We had planned a scan at home so that all the kids could see the baby, and Travis was about to leave for tour" she explained. "The doctor who will come to the house to do the scan is a high-risk doctor, who's really detailed and thorough at looking for everything. And something caught his eye where he wanted me to see a couple specialists."
Kourtney learned she'd have to have fetal surgery, and Kris Jenner ended up taking her since Travis Barker was flying home from Europe.
"The thing that was awful was his WiFi was broken on the plane," Kourtney said. "So the whole time he couldn't get updates. He took off and then I think I had it a couple hours later. I was sending him updates and my mom was sending him updates. He couldn't get anything and he kept checking, every two hours on the plane, ‘Can you reset the WiFi?' And they were like, it broke two flights ago."
Fortunately, Kourtney's surgery was successful, but she was on bed rest for the remaining months of her pregnancy. "I'm now mostly on bed rest because there's a hole in the amniotic sack from where they had to go in for the surgery," she explained. "So I'm not allowed to drive, I'm not allowed to stand for more than 20 minutes. I'm really not leaving the house, in other words."
"After this happened, I was like, ‘God's got this. We're good. This is a miracle and we're just going to be super positive.'"
Kourtney and Travis welcomed their son Rocky in November. So happy for them!
