Kris Aquino Whips Away Her Labels
More often than not, actress Kris Aquino gets a bad rap for being opinionated. “Opinyonada, that’s what they call me. I think hindi masama for you to stand up for what you think is right. And it takes a strong woman to speak her mind, diba?” says Kris. She doesn’t understand this double standard for men and women. “Labels are a challenge. It’s a mirror to you about whatever perceived imperfections you have and nasa sa iyo yan if you’ll cower and be insecure or you’re going to say, ‘No, what you’re telling me is a weakness is actually my strength.” For Kris, she has learned that for women out there, it takes a very intelligent person to accept a very intelligent woman.
