Kristen Wiig got glamorous in pointed pumps for the “Despicable Me 4” New York Premiere at Jazz Lincoln Center on Sunday afternoon.
Crafted in patent leather, the pumps sported a light pink color, and were emphasized through their pointed angular construction in the upper region. The shoes were completed by a slim heel that measured around 3-to-4 inches in height. Wiig’s entire look for the premiere was styled by Karla Welch, which included an ensemble from Adam Lippes’ fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection.
The “Bridesmaids” star paired her shoes with a black sleeveless crop top from the brand alongside a polka dot sheer skirt that extended past her ankles.
Wiig is known for her preference of elevated footwear models such as stilettos and pumps when it comes to her formal appearances. For Carol Burnett’s birthday tribute show in Los Angeles in January 2023, the actress arrived on the red carpet in Christian Louboutin‘s Hot Chick Slingback Patent Leather Pumps in blossom pink. Made in Italy, the pumps were crafted with rich patent leather, distinguished by a flattering curved vamp, featured a pointed toe and V-shaped slingback strap, and were completed by a 4 inch stiletto heel.
Height-wise, those shoes were similar to the 5-inch Giuseppe Zanotti heels she was spotted wearing while hosting “Saturday Night Live” in December 2020. The gold metallic shoes included a platform sole in the upper that measured a little over 2 inches, a thick metallic strap across the toe box and a slim metallic strap with a buckle across the ankle.
For the 74th Venice International Film Festival in 2017, Wiig promoted her film “Downsizing” alongside co-star Matt Damon in ankle strap sandals from Sophia Webster. Those sandals featured a thick embellished strap in the upper part of the shoe, a black ankle strap with a silver buckle and a stiletto heel that clocked in around 4 inches.
“Despicable Me 4” will be released in theaters on July 4. The film focuses on the main character, Gru, as he welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who seems intent on causing chaos and making life a little harder for Gru and the clan. Their peaceful existence, however, soon comes crashing down when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru. The movie was directed by Chris Renaud and Patrick Delage and will be distributed through Universal Pictures.
