Tottenham began contact training at Hotspur Way on Thursday following unanimous Premier League approval.

Part of Project Restart, top-flight clubs were due to begin 'Phase Two' before the end of the week as the league edges closer to a return to action.

Spurs manager Jose Mourinho confirmed on Wednesday that injured quartet Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Moussa Sissoko and Steven Bergwijn were all back to fitness and included in drills.

But Mourinho has warned his players will not be able to reach full fitness by the time the league resumes, currently expected to be no earlier than June 19.

"I cannot say in this moment they are ready to play because one thing is to recover from an injury, and another is to be ready to play football," Mourinho told Sky Sports.

"In Harry's case, I think for about five months he hasn't played, but all of them are not injured anymore. They are training, and training is what it is at the moment, training has a lot of limitations."

Mourinho’s side sit eighth in the Premier League and face a battle to secure European qualification should the Premier League season restart next month.

They were on a dismal run of six games without a win when the coronavirus shutdown kicked in.

Tottenham's first games back are scheduled to by home matches against Manchester United and West Ham, with the season resuming on June 17.
