Libyan sisters sell belongings to help stray animals

STORY: These Libyan sisters

are dedicated to helping stray animals

Location: Benghazi, Libya

They drive to reach more than

150 dogs and cats everyday

and founded a shelter three years ago

The sisters struggle

to get outside help

They sold their homes

and cars to support their work

"I am doing this because of the war, because I was in a frontline between the frontline and a safe area. So dogs used to run away from the war and come to me. Some people returned dogs to the frontlines! If humans were not able to live under fire and fled, why were they returning dogs to these areas?"
