Lily Gladstone Goes All Black in Gabriela Hearst for ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers,’ Talks Met Gala Outfit

Lily Gladstone made an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on Tuesday. The Oscar-nominated actress was on hand to discuss her miniseries “Under the Bridge” and the significance behind her 2024 Met Gala look.

For the late-night talk show, Gladstone opted for subdued elegance, wearing a design courtesy of Gabriela Hearst. The “Killers of the Flower Moon” star wore a sleeveless black maxidress along with a sheer, long-sleeve, floor-length coat. Gladstone accessorized her look with earrings and rings by Jennifer Younger and Keri Ataumbi. Gladstone’s soft makeup look was conceived by Nick Barose, while the actor’s hair was styled by Marc Mena.
During her appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” Gladstone disclosed the meaning behind her 2024 Met Gala look, which was also designed by Hearst. “It’s amazing, if you go to Gabriela Hearst’s Instagram, you can see the way that the constellations were laid out,” Gladstone said of her ornate Met Gala look.
“Every one of these stars, recycled silver, made by Kiowa artist Keri Ataumbi, and they’re arranged in the actual constellations that you would see on the Northern Plains, where I grew up, on the summer solstice, which was a really powerful time of year for our people,” Gladstone said.
“In both Kiowa — where Keri is from, her nation — and Blackfeet, where I’m from, our origin story is that we came from the stars. We came from Sky Woman, who fell to Earth and created everything for us. And then, when we pass away, we return to the stars,” the actor said.
“Being draped in this cape, with these stars, was kind of Gabriela [Hearst] and Keri’s [Ataumbi] way of saying that I have my ancestors with me when I’m walking.” Following her breakout, critically lauded performance in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” Gladstone’s used red carpets and major Hollywood events to spotlight the Indigenous community and Native American designers.
The recently announced Cannes Film Festival juror previously wore the Polo Ralph Lauren x Naiomi Glasses wool coat during an appearance on “Good Morning America” on April 17 while promoting “Under the Bridge.”
