Linden Productions Lands Rights To Sarah Blakley-Cartwright’s Best-Selling Novel ‘Alice Sadie Celine’, Jen Silverman To Adapt

EXCLUSIVE: Following a competitive bidding, Linden Productions has acquired the rights to Alice Sadie Celine, the adult debut novel of NYT-Bestselling author, Sarah Blakley-Cartwright. Jen Silverman will adapt the script with Linden Productions on board to develop and produce the feature film. Blakley-Cartwright will also remain on the project as an Executive Producer.

The story centers on a lauded feminist who becomes entangled with her daughter’s best friend. The novel was selected for the Indie Next List, showcasing the top nominated titles that booksellers nationwide are most excited to share with readers.

The deal was helmed by producer Riva Marker of Linden Entertainment. Marker is a known visionary for bold and provocative storytelling, shown especially in her championing of first-time directors such as Paul Dano’s Wildlife, Susanna Fogel’s Life Partners, Natalie Erika James’ Relic and most recently Tina Satter’s award-winning HBO Films crime-drama Reality starring Sydney Sweeney, which was nominated for a Peabody Award.

Linden Entertainment was founded in 2020 by Nicole King and Stacy O’Neil who leads the company alongside Partner JoAnne Colonna and Riva Marker, the CEO of Production. On the management side, the company represents some of the most acclaimed talent to date such as Vin Diesel, Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria, Amy Adams, Eiza Gonzalez, Vanessa Kirby, Rachel Weisz, Brendan Fraser, Forest Whitaker, among others. Their production arm, Linden Productions, has a slate of projects in development including Yes Day 2, the sequel to the Netflix original with Jennifer Garner set to reprise her role; as well as Mrs. Claus with Netflix and Hello Sunshine. They also recently produced the beloved Netflix film, Family Switch.

The company also has Linden Ventures, their investment and incubation division that helped launch Once Upon a Farm, which saw over $100 million in sales; Molly Sims’ YSE Beauty; and Casa Azul with Eiza Gonzalez.

Silverman has written on Netflix’s Tales of the City and is a writer-producer on Season 2 of Max’s Tokyo Vice. Their play The Roommate will run on Broadway this fall, starring Tony Award winner Patti LuPone and Golden Globe nominee Mia Farrow. Silverman is repped at UTA.

In addition to Alice Sadie Celine, Blakley-Cartwright is the author of Red Riding Hood, a New York Times #1 bestseller that was published worldwide in thirty-eight editions and fifteen languages. Blakley-Cartwright is repped by UTA & Ellen Levine and Martha Wydysh at Trident Media Group.
