Mamma Mia's Lily James joins Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor in heist movie Lockdown

From Digital Spy

Mamma Mia and Rebecca star Lily James has signed up to star in a pandemic-themed heist movie from the creator of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight. Yes, you read that correctly.

Well, why just live through a pandemic when you can make art of out it, too?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lily is in talks along with Ben Stiller and Stephen Merchant to join the comedy drama, with Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor already on board.

The aptly-titled Lockdown, which will be directed by Mr and Mrs Smith and Edge of Tomorrow's Doug Liman, is said to star Hathaway and Ejiofor as sparring couple Linda and Paxton.

Lockdown will see the couple call a truce in their relationship, and instead channel their energy into attempting a high-risk, high-stakes jewellery heist at luxury department store Harrods.

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will work alongside Doug Liman on the project, which has already kicked off filming in London. It's expected to film (under strict coronavirus-related protocols) on location until next month.

Lily James is certainly keeping her schedule full, with whispers the actress was set to star alongside Harry Styles in an LGBTQ+ romance movie emerging just last month.

An adaptation of Bethan Roberts' LGBTQ+ novel My Policeman, the currently untitled film has been acquired by Amazon Studios and is set to be directed by Michael Grandage, with Oscar-nominated writer Ron Nyswaner (Philadelphia) adapting Roberts' book.

Set in 1950s Brighton, My Policeman follows a schoolteacher named Marion who instantly falls for policeman Tom. However, when Tom meets Patrick, a museum curator who opens his eyes to a new world, he's left with a difficult decision to make.
