Man charged with driving against flow of traffic on AYE

A man who drove against the flow of traffic on 5 January was charged in the State Courts on Thursday (12 January ).

Brandon Ng Hai Chong, 30, allegedly committed the offence along the Ayer Rajah Expressway towards Tuas at 1.36am.

Appearing before District Judge Carol Ling the slim man wearing a blue polo T-shirt is currently out on $10,000 bail.

Ng, who was represented by his counsel, Luke Lee, is facing one charge of dangerous driving.

He was arrested by the authorities on 6 January in the vicinity of Jubilee Road.

Any driver convicted of dangerous driving faces a fine of up to $3,000 and a jail term of up to a year.

The Traffic Police said at a media briefing on Wednesday that seven such cases of driving against the flow of traffic are currently under investigation.

These incidents occurred between 28 December 2016 and 7 January 2017.
