A 45-year-old man will be charged in court on Wednesday (18 January) for allegedly stealing petrol.

The police were alerted to the theft at two petrol stations in the western part of Singapore between 13 and 14 January.

Yahoo Singapore understands that the suspect had driven off from the petrol stations without making payment after pumping petrol into his vehicle, which had a modified number plate.

The police arrested the suspect on Monday (16 January) at Boon Lay Place after establishing his identity.

If convicted, he may be jailed for up to three years, or fined, or both.
