Mandy Wong sees Ali Lee, Alice Chan as biggest competition

17 Dec – TVB actress Mandy Wong recently admitted that she sees Alice Chan and Ali Lee as her biggest competitor to win TV Queen at this year's TVB Anniversary Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who has been nominated in the said category for her performance in "Threesome", shared that she has worked with both actresses before and know how talented they are in their craft.

"Alice is a very gentle person in real life. She exudes femininity. But her role in "Deep in the Realm of Conscience" is very different. Her character is vicious and manipulative. She uses her eyes to express her inner emotions. It was a powerful performance," she said.

As for Ali, Mandy stated that the "Who Wants a Baby?" actress found her footing almost immediately after she joined TVB.

"Even without a real life experience of being a mother, she was able to get viewers resonate with her character as a struggling career woman-turned-unexpectant mother," she said.

As for netizens who questioned her own eligibility to be nominated in the category, Mandy said that it's natural for any actor to get some criticisms.

"It is impossible for everyone to agree. I am always willing to accept all criticisms be it good or bad. Sometimes you can't just listen to fans who adore you. You have to leave your comfort zone and hear what others have to say in order for you to further develop yourself," she said.
