Model Mona Singh in MMS related scandal

9 Apr –Indian television actress and model, Mona Singh has remained calm and composed despite the recent fake MMS scandal that placed her in a bad light. The MMS clip, which allegedly showed Singh in the nude, first leaked on 28 March and went viral on the Internet.

"I don't have to hide. I'm not scared of anything as I know it's fake," she said.

The 32-year-old TV star further noted her disbelief when she became the next victim for such malicious act and expressed her sympathy towards women who have undergone through similar situations.

"I never thought anything like this could happen to me. Now I completely sympathise and empathise with girls who have gone through such instances."

Following the recent outcry in India, the "Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin" further added, "In spite of the furore over the Delhi gang-rape, crimes against women haven't decreased. All the men involved in these activities should be behind bars and punished so badly that they'd stop doing this."

"People need to realise that before being actors we're respectable women and have family and friends who we're answerable to and who get affected by negativity that is thrown in our direction. If today this can happen to me, it can happen to any innocent girl and things like this can ruin lives and careers forever."

"This is a very serious issue and it needs to stop! As members of the media, journalists and editors should also take a stand against such acts and not provide the culprits with the publicity that they are hoping for as the outcome of dastardly acts."

The scandal has also caused anger of Singh's boyfriend, Vidyu Jamwal who urged Indian men no to support any form of vulgarity.

"I think men like you promote such things. People like you talk about all these things, see them. Indian men should not support vulgarity in any form," said the 32-year-old actor when asked about his thoughts on degradation towards women.

As regards to the progress of police investigation, the Mumbai police officials have yet to found the person liable for uploading the MMS.
