Murder arrest after woman's sudden death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the sudden death of a woman aged in her 80s.

Police were called by the ambulance service to a home in Viney Avenue, Romsey, on Wednesday shortly after 09:20 BST.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.

The arrested man, 65, from the town, has been released on police bail until 26 September.
