The music video for this year’s National Day Parade (NDP) theme song “Our Singapore” was released on 27 May 2015.

Composed and performed by Dick Lee, the music video starts off in monochrome, showing scenes of Singapore in the 'good ol' days' before transitioning to the city-state as we know it now.

The music video has been uploaded to Youtube, as well as to the NDP website. Through a message on the site, the NDP organisers share the message behind the song and the music video.

“The song calls on Singaporeans to not take the present achievements for granted, that the pioneering spirit continues to be important, and with a spirit of togetherness, create a brighter and better Singapore going forward,” they say.

Members of the public can also download the .mp3 version of the song through the link available on the website.

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen has also shared the video on his Facebook page and it has since garnered over 7,000 views and has been shared more than 200 times.

According to Ng, the music video was directed by local filmmaker, Eric Khoo.

"Here’s Eric Khoo’s brand new video on the NDP 2015 theme song “Our Singapore” by Dick Lee," he wrote in the Facebook post.

The comments to his post has mostly been positive ones, with most commenters saying that they like the song. Karen Koh, for example, wrote, "A meaningful n (sic) lovely song. Easy to remember."

Lee was also the creator of previous NDP theme songs, including “Home” in 1998, which was performed by Kit Chan, and “We Will Get There” in 2002, performed by Stefanie Sun.
