Neighbours spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Neighbours' Emmett Donaldson is to suffer a nasty fall just as things were getting back on track for his guardians David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan.

In scenes set to air next week, the teen finds himself giving into peer pressure when his bolshy brother Brent (Texas Watterston) pushes him to climb up onto the roof.

Knowing they shouldn't be fooling around, Em (Ezra Justin) manages to convince his older sibling to let him down. But as he tries to do so, he gets stuck and panics.

Hearing the commotion, Aaron (Matt Wilson) catches the pair of them and shouts at Em to stop mucking about. His angry yells spook the youngster, however, causing him to lose his footing and hit the ground with a thud.

Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Grimes) and Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) – who was talking through whether the latter should reunite with her estranged mother Jane nearby – rush to help after they hear Emmett's blood-curdling scream. Meanwhile, Aaron and David (Takaya Honda) call for an ambulance.

When the paramedics arrive on the scene, they deduce that Emmett may have sustained a spinal injury and explain to his foster parents that he needs to be admitted to hospital – which leaves Aaron and David furious at Brent.

Later, Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) finds Brent, who had run away to avoid the confrontation, and the Ramsay Street newbie confesses that he's racked with guilt and desperate to see his brother recover.

Having already agreed to let Brent stay with them, will David and Aaron go back on their promise to Emmett in light of recent events?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 13 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
