Nev Schulman met his wife, Laura Perlongo, via Instagram in 2015.

The Catfish host asked her out for dinner and a motorcycle ride, and they soon started dating. About seven months into their relationship, in May 2016, Perlongo announced she was pregnant in a blog post on ATTN.

“I knew right away I wanted this baby. I was strong. I was smart. I was full of love. I COULD DO THIS,” she wrote. “Nev was confident he would be great. HE COULD DO THIS! ... we were optimistic and in love."

Schulman and Perlongo got engaged around the same time as their pregnancy announcement and welcomed their first child, Cleo James, in October 2016. The pair got married nearly a year later on July 22, 2017.

Cleo served as the flower girl and made her entrance in a red wagon. “Marrying the woman of my dreams and having our beautiful daughter there with us? I'm a very lucky man,” Schulman told PEOPLE at the time.

The couple have since welcomed two more children, Beau in 2019 and Cy in 2021. Two years after adding their youngest to the family, Perlongo shared a birthday tribute to Schulman.

"Most generous with his time and love and efforts to fix broken lights and broken hearts. Knew it all since day one if I’m honest. But now I get to find out all the things I couldn’t have predicted," she wrote on Instagram. "My favorite person to make people with. My favorite person to throw an 'everyone come over' with ... Everyone so so so lucky to have you. Me the most. Love you love you love you."

In an interview with Hamptons Magazine, Perlongo discussed her views on work and motherhood.

In January 2023, Perlongo posted on Instagram about having a miscarriage, using her nails as a metaphor for the loss of her pregnancy.

"Damn this manicure's been through a lot. About to change it, the manicure that is, n feeling a lil sad to see her go. Maybe that's obvious, maybe not,” she wrote. According to the post the couple were waiting until she was 14 weeks pregnant to share the news publicly.

"I guess that woulda had a different spin. Wasn't planning on any of it. And if it's happened to you too, I'm just sayin it happens a lot," Perlongo wrote, referencing pregnancy loss. "I'm just sayin I LOVED THIS GD MANICURE. And the all too real fantasy of what coulda been."

In 2017, Perlongo revealed that her becoming a mom made her realize how incredible her own is.

“It's taken becoming a mother to even begin to understand and appreciate (and now worship) my own mother. Mainly because to me she was a simple constant," she wrote on Instagram.

"A big smile every morning. Arm tickles every night. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Simple reassurance. Easy. Funny. Present. She never missed ONE recital, game, track meet or play. But she was just my mom,” Perlongo continued.

The creative director concluded by reflecting on how her mom's parenting style inspires her own. "Finally I can understand that being a constant takes a lifetime of incredible love, effort and patience and there is nothing simple about it. So finally, a 'Happy Mother's Day Mom!' that means way more than the words @kekseaair I'm endlessly grateful for you," she penned.
