Knicks guard Derrick Rose out 2 months after undergoing ankle surgery
New York Knicks guard Derrick Rose will be sidelined for at least the next two months.
Rose underwent surgery on his right ankle Wednesday, the team announced. He’ll be evaluated again in eight weeks.

Rose went down with an ankle injury 12 minutes into New York's win against the Houston Rockets on Dec. 16. The team initially said he was dealing with ankle soreness, but he has missed their past two games.
Rose will be out at least until late February. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, there is “optimism” that the 33-year-old could return closer to six weeks instead of eight.
Rose has averaged 12 points and four assists in 26 games this season, his 13th in the league and second with the Knicks after landing there in a trade with the Detroit Pistons last season. He signed a three-year, $45.5 million deal with the Knicks this past offseason.
The Knicks have won two of their past three games, including Tuesday’s 105-91 win over the Pistons. They’ll host the Washington Wizards on Thursday – they're 1.5-point underdogs, per BetMGM – before taking on the Atlanta Hawks to kick off the league’s Christmas Day slate of games.
