SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday (14 June) confirmed 25 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore, taking the country's total case count to 62,301.

Of them, 19 are local cases – 18 are in the community while one resides in a dormitory. Eighteen are linked to previous cases, including ten added to the 115 Bukit Merah View Market & Food Centre cluster.

Monday marks the 50th consecutive day with local cases reported. The sole unlinked case is a 79-year-old Singaporean man who is employed by AO ServicePro as a cleaner at 375 and 376 Clementi Avenue 4. The man received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on 5 June.

Separately, a 16-year-old Singaporean boy who is a student at Anglo Chinese School (Independent) is linked to a previously announced case but is not part of an active cluster. As the case was his family member and household contact, the boy was placed on quarantine on 11 June.

The remaining six cases are imported, including one returning Singaporean and two permanent residents from Bangladesh and India. The other three are a long-term visit pass holder who arrived from the Philippines, a work permit holder from Malaysia, and a short-term visit pass holder from Indonesia for a work project here.

"Amongst the new cases today, 11 are asymptomatic, and were detected from our proactive screening and surveillance, while 14 were symptomatic," said the MOH.

The ministry noted that the number of new cases in the community has decreased from 105 in the week before to 49 in the past week. The number of unlinked cases in the community has increased from 15 in the week before to 16 in the past week.

The MOH also announced the closure of two clusters – WOK HEY and "Case 63319" – as there have been no cases linked to them for the past two incubation periods, or 28 days. Singapore currently has 46 active COVID-19 clusters.
