Over 1,000 HUAWEI nova 3i phones sold within an hour on first day of sale

Singaporeans will never miss a great deal and that’s precisely the case for the new HUAWEI nova 3i launch today with over 1,000 units snapped up within a hour.

The HUAWEI nova 3i was made available in both Iris Purple and Black at the recommended retail price of S$398 at Waterway Point Shopping Mall, East Wing Atrium, Basement 2. From 11am to 9pm, customers received a Casio G-SHOCK Analog-Digital Watch (worth S$199) with every purchase of the nova 3i, while stocks last. The crowd favourite, Iris Purple, was sold out within the hour.

Among the first to get the new HUAWEI nova 3i in Singapore was Joseph Lim, 43, who joined the queue together with his father at the stroke of midnight. The father and son pair has purchased a total of four phones for the entire family. Notably, the Lim family will be using a HUAWEI smartphone for the first time. “The features and price of the phone are very attractive and is beyond what other regular phones provide, especially for its price. With all the different features like storage space and a bigger screen, it’s totally worth the wait and value,” he said.

John Yong, 40, who was second in line and recently became a Huawei convert after his first purchase today, commented: “My friends have been giving very good reviews about Huawei smartphones, and I wanted to buy one for myself since the new nova 3i is being launched today. I am really impressed with the colour and screen size and I’m happy that I can buy this phone without breaking my wallet.”

Michelle Sim, age 23, and her sister, Stella Sim, 24, who are both new to Huawei, specially made their trip down from Tiong Bahru to Waterway Point since 7.30am this morning. Both commented that they were drawn to the specifications, design and attractive price tag of the phone.

As part of the Huawei nova 3i debut today, visitors at the launch were treated to a day of entertainment with celebrity appearances by local sweethearts Joanna Dong and Boon Hui Lu.

A game-changer for the mid-range smartphones, the HUAWEI nova 3i is priced at an exceptional value of S$398 that boasts a range of features including the world’s first four AI cameras that can optimise photos by scene; the newest generation 6.3-inch FullView display; and the all-new Kirin 710 chipset. The chipset is the latest generation of AI processor devised by Huawei for the nova series that provides an enhanced performance. Read our review of the Huawei nova 3i here.

Cheng Jiangfei, Managing Director of Huawei Singapore Consumer Business Group said, “The response that we have received from the public has been phenomenal and reaffirms our commitment to bring meaningful innovation at an affordable price-point to mass consumers. We are grateful for all the support from our customers, telecommunication operators and media partners who have made the nova 3i a success!”

The Huawei nova 3i is available at all Huawei Concept Stores, local telecommunication operators, selected consumer electronic stores, authorised mobile retailers and selected online marketplaces. Huawei customers will also be entitled to a 2-year warranty with any smartphone purchase.

Comparison with other mid-range phones available in Singapore from major brands:

Priced at just S$398, the only other comparably priced model would be the lower end Samsung J7 Duo at S$348. The Huawei nova 3i clearly a front-running in this market segment.
