PAP co-opts four more members into Central ExCo

The People’s Action Party (PAP) has co-opted four more members into its 34th Central Executive Committee, including first-time MP Murali Pillai and Education Minister (Higher Education and Skills) Ong Ye Kung.

Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli and Potong Pasir MP Sitoh Yih Pin were the other two additions to the 18-member CEC.

Ong has been appointed organising secretary, alongside Health Minister Gan Kim Yong and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Chan Chun Sing.

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, National Development Minister Lawrence Wong, Holland-Bukit Timah MP Liang Eng Hwa and Tampines MP Baey Yam Keng, who were on the 33rd CEC, are not part of the new CEC.

The PAP made the announcement on Thursday (5 January) after last month’s CEC election at the party’s biennial conference.
